  1. The Platte County R-3 School district has been recognized by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a “High Performing” district which is the highest academic recognition given in the state of Missouri.
  2. Platte County R-3 has received a perfect score (14 out of 14) on the Annual Performance Report by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  3. Platte County R-3 High School is designated an A+ School. This designation allows graduates the opportunity to attend, tuition free, any junior college or trade school in Missouri. The Platte County R-3 School District has over 72% of its graduates attending post-secondary education or training, and over 95% average daily attendance. The district's ACT scores are annually above the state and national averages.
  4. District patrons provide tremendous support for the schools and have passed five bond issues in the last ten years with over 67% approval. These bond issues have allowed the district to provide some of the best academic and co-curricular facilities in the state for our students.
  5. The district received the "What Parents Want" Award from SchoolMatch.
  6. Despite having one of the lowest tax levies in the KC area ($4.52), the district has outstanding academic performance and facilities. The district has not asked voters for an operating levy increase since 1984.
  7. The district has outstanding student to teacher ratios, low teacher turnover and average teaching experience of 15 years. Over 70% of the certified staff have advanced degrees.
  8. Although much smaller than many surrounding districts in the metropolitan area, patrons expect the district to compete and perform with the large suburban school districts academically, in extra-curricular activities and in all facets of school business. The district has had 13 Missouri State Champions in athletics (both men's and women's sports) the last 10 years and the fine arts programs are recognized across the state.
  9. While large enough to offer each student numerous opportunities to be successful and involved in all school programs, the schools are still small enough that each individual can be involved in numerous programs and have a distinct identity of their own. Platte County provides “large school district opportunities in a small school environment”.
  10. Higher Advancement Placement, eight dual credit courses and seven challenge courses are now offered at the high school level. Some courses now available online.
